Patois Crash Course

In celebration of Patois/Creole Month, the Alliance Française partnered with Mr Nnamdi Hodge to offer Patois classes all throughout the month of October.
These classes are designed to give attendees a very basic introduction to Trinidad Patois (also known as French Creole).
You will learn: the Patois alphabet; basic expressions in Patois; the numbers 1-1000; saying your age; speaking about your family composition; saying the time and date; naming the colours and parts of the body, and basic descriptions of people.
If that was not enough, you will also learn Trinidad Patois proverbs, games and songs.

The Alliance Française, in collaboration with Mr. Jack Caïlachon, is hosting a conference on the East Indian Immigration in Guadeloupe and in the French West Indies.

Mr. Caïlachon is a Guadeloupean specialist of the history of institutions and of the East Indian presence in Guadeloupe. He will discuss the historical and institutional aspects of this phenomenon that has contributed profoundly to the identity of the West Indies, and showcase the cultural heritage of the East Indian migrants in the French West Indies of today.

The conference takes place at the Alliance Française, 17 Alcazar Street, St Clair, P.O.S. at 7pm.
